To give you a good idea of the Richmond way of doing things we’ve created a  step-by-step guide that details the various phases of a project. Initially we are approached by the client, who is looking for a company that can fulfil an entire fitting, from design solution and installation. The project could be a total fit-out package to a bare building or the refurbishment of the interior or specific items (such as furniture, lighting or themed images) within the building.

The opening stages of a project is fundamental. It establishes theme, budget and timescale. Every brief that we receive at Richmond is an challenge to our creativity, experience and professionalism in a market that constantly changes and is increasingly budget conscious. We run an effective and efficient ship, of which we wish to assure you.

  • Brief

Once the client’s brief is established, the Richmond team carry out a site survey. Identifying existing structures and make-up allows us to anticipate potential production queries. It is also vital to achieve a ‘physical feel’ for the space, so as to better interpret the your creative vision and aspirations. A detailed site survey is then created.

  • Research

Any information that may be relevant to design and style must also be gathered at this stage. Things like the your business type, direction and customer demographic is taken in to consideration.

  • Design

Proposed design drawings are produced along with sample material boards, artist’s impressions and, if necessary, prototypes. You’ll be kept informed at every step in the initial stages, making decisions that allow production and manufacture to occur easily. The scheme is then priced by Richmond’s in-house Quantity Surveying Department and subsequently presented to you, the client.

  • Client Approval

Once your approval is received, (sometimes following revisions or adjustments to the design proposal and costing) a schedule of works is established and a dedicated team assigned to the project. We then liaise with any necessary external architects, Mechanical and Electrical contractors. Detailed Cad drawings are generated to ensure all aspects of the design process are followed through.

  • Planning, Building Control

Richmond address all statutory legislation like Planning, Building Control, Disability Access and Environmental Health. This could require formal applications being made on behalf of the client to the relevant bodies for approval to carry out works. Similarly, Richmond can aid the client in sourcing external funding and appearing, if necessary, as professional witnesses to specifically where licensing is required.

  • Production and Installation

The unique turnkey service allows the client to be part of the design process, from start to implementation. The manufacture of a new theme is undertaken in our Bangor factory and, when ready for installation, is transported to the site and installed in accordance with the turnkey schedule.

  • Turnkey – The Advantage

With all services essentially under one roof, the design solution can be controlled and monitored much better than if many separate agencies were working together. You’ll feel secure in the knowledge that the concept can be reliably achieved on budget and on time.
